July 19, 2011 JOM Article Published
In the July 2011 issue of JOM, within the article "Bayesian Methods for Image Segmentation" beginning on page 55, software developed by BlueQuartz Software in collaboration with Carnegie-Mellon University and Purdue University was used to generate some of the image segmentations used as examples in the article. The article can be found at the JOM website.

July 14, 2011 DREAM.3D Precompiled Binaries Available
In collaboration with the US Air Force Research Laboratory the DREAM.3D precompiled binaries are available at http://dream3d.bluequartz.net. DREAM.3D is an open and modular software package that allows users to reconstruct, instantiate, quantify, mesh, handle and visualize microstructure digitally.

May 25, 2011 Latest Software Package being Demo'ed
BlueQuartz software in collaboration with the US Air Force Research Laboratory will be demonstrating the latest software package at the Carnegie-Mellon Department of Materials and Science and Engineering summer school on 3D Microstructures from May 24 to May 26, 2011 in Pittsburgh Pa. The software package contains algorithms to reconstruct microstructure data from experimental data using OIM data or from pure statistical data.


April 18, 2011 EM/MPM Gui Released
BlueQuartz software in collaboration with the USAF Electronic Imaging for Microscopy project has released precompiled binaries for the Expectation Maximization - Maximization Posterior Marginals (EM/MPM) algorithm that was developed at Purdue University as a way to segmented images based on textures instead of explicit colors or gray levels found in the image.
